o put his unbelievable run of form into perspective, Mo Salah became only the 13th player in Liverpool’s illustrious history to score 30 goals in a season, last night, and it’s only February.

In fact, the 25-year-old became the first Liverpool player since Luis Suarez to net 30 goals in all competitions.

Salah found the net in the 29th minute when he literally did some keepy-upy’s in front of the goalkeeper before guiding in a volley to make it 2-0. It was a special goal from a special talent.

What a season it has been so far for the Egyptian winger and in a brave more, some have even compared him to five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi after last night’s heroics against FC Porto.

The Egyptian has scored all types of goals this season and he added a new one to his collection last night, a goal that looked scarily like the one Messi scored against Arsenal in the Champions League back in 2011.

Like Salah, the Barcelona forward chipped the goalkeeper before smashing in a volley from close range.

Steven Gerrard even mentioned Messi’s name when analysing Salah’s goal on Wednesday night, but warned it was ‘not fair’ to compare him to the 30-year-old.

“If Messi did this everyone in the world would be going crazy.” Gerrard said on BT Sport. “‘Liverpool have had too much aggression for Porto. They look like they can score every time they go forward.”

“And we’ve seen a moment of magic from Mo Salah. It’s not fair to the kid to compare him to Messi.”
