REAL MADRID may be forced to keep Gareth Bale despite mounting concerns over his recurring injuries.

That’s because the club fear they may be on the verge of losing star attacker Marco Asensio.

Don Balon report that Manchester City are preparing a gigantic £132m bid for the Spanish winger.

Boss Pep Guardiola is apparently “in love” with the 22-year-old former Mallorca star.

City beat Arsenal 3-0 to win the Carabao Cup yesterday but Guardiola will look to strengthen his squad further this summer.

Rumours about Bale moving back to the Premier League have intensified throughout the season.

He has been sidelined due to calf and groin injuries and suffered criticism for his La Liga performances.

The Welshman’s agent was quick to shoot down rumours of a move to Manchester United or a return to Tottenham at the end of last year however.

Jonathan Barnett, his agent, said the 28-year-old loves life at Los Blancos does not want to leave the Bernabeu.

“He wants to play the rest of his life at Real Madrid,” he told Fichajes.

“He loves Madrid, the city, life and he loves the club.

“Of course it hurts him when the people don’t support him and they do with other players who aren’t so good.”

Asensio, meanwhile, is currently happy in Madrid and does not wish to leave the European champions.

But Don Balon claim that depending on his role between now to the end of the season, he could reconsider his situation.
