LIONEL MESSI has hinted that he wants to join David Beckham’s new MLS franchise in Florida.

The Barcelona star congratulated Beckham on launching his long-planned Major League Soccer team via social media.

On Monday, the Manchester United legend announced that his team would eventually come together in Florida.

The plan is for his franchise to make its MLS bow in 2020, with its stadium scheduled to be opened the following year.

Messi, 30, sent a video message, stating: “First of all congratulations.

“I would like to wish you a lot of luck in this project, in this new stage of yours.”

The Argentine superstar concluded with a cheeky smile and wink.

He added: ”And who knows if in a few years you make me a little offer…”

Messi is however currently to Barcelona until at least 2021.

That agreement includes a £626m release clause

Barca are keen to keep Messi at the club until he retires, but Beckham may have other ideas up his sleeve.

The Catalan giants are running away with La Liga this season.

Ernesto Valverde’s side are 11 points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid and 19 clear of rivals Real Madrid.
