Monaco outplays Dortmund and reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2004.
Monaco had a 3-2 Aggregate advantage coming in to the match. Kick-off was delayed five minutes when it was pushed back after Dortmund’s team bus was delayed, causing anxiety following their bus explosion attack recently.
Kylian Mbappe gave Monaco the lead after three minutes and Radamel Falcao headed in soon after to all but put the tie beyond Dortmund.
Dortmund threw on forward Ousmane Dembele and it was a fantastic run from the 19-year-old that set up Marco Reus to lash in after the break.
But substitute Valere Germain scored 22 seconds after coming off the bench to secure Monaco’s spot in the semis.
Monaco will their semi-final opponents when the draw is made on Friday, alongside quarter final winners Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
