Thomas Lemar has informed Monaco that he wants to move to Liverpool before the end of the transfer window, according to reports.
Liverpool remain in talks with the Ligue 1 champions and have already made a club-record £70 million offer.
But Goal claim that Lemar is pushing for a move to Anfield and has told Monaco chiefs about his desire to play under Jurgen Klopp.
Monaco have stood firm over the 21-year-old’s availability and reports in France are claiming that any deal depends on whether the club are able to sign a replacement in time.
Liverpool were willing to use Divock Origi as a makeweight in the deal but have since agreed a £6m loan fee with Wolfsburg.
Barcelona are also considering a move for Lemar but the France international is currently considered by Barca’s hierarchy as an alternative option to Philippe Coutinho.
Arsenal have also pursued Lemar and have already had three bids rejected this summer, including an offer of £50m.
Lemar is currently with France’s national team and is set to feature in their World Cup qualifier against Netherlands on Thursday evening.
