JOSE MOURINHO hinted he could coach Paris Saint-Germain one day because he wanted to divert away from Manchester United’s draw against Liverpool at the weekend.
In an interview on French TV on Sunday, Mourinho stated he will not finish his career at Old Trafford while also hinting he could consider a job at Paris.
And his comments were met with bemusement by many pundits and former players who assumed he was in the job at Manchester United for the long haul.
United are in contention to win the Premier League this season after a strong start to the campaign.
Red Devils fans will be hoping they can maintain their title push after four seasons without battling at the top of the English league.
But Mourinho was criticised for taking a negative approach to United’s game against Liverpool at the weekend.
And Arsenal legend Wright joked the United boss used his interview on French TV as an opportunity to divert attention away from the goalless draw at Anfield.
“The way they played the other day, he’s got to do something to reflect away from that performance,” Wright joked on Sky Sports’ The Debate show.
“When you go into that realm you’re creating column inches and people will talk about that.
“You look at PSG, they’re probably the only ones left he might be able to go to with the fortunes they’ve got where he can go and try and win the Champions League with.”
