La Liga, UEFA 2018-03-23 6:05 AM

The Atletico Madrid striker(Soccer Gear) is wanted by both of La Liga’s heavyweights and he has already admitted that he could leave the club before this summer’s World Cup.

Griezmann’s release clause drops to €100million (£88m) at the end of the season – which is a reasonable amount given the current market.

But Real Madrid think they might hold the advantage in persuading the striker to stay in the Spanish capital.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Los Blancos will enlist the help of former star David Beckham as he is apparently one of Griezmann’s heroes.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have been tracking the 27-year-old for some time and were expected to make a move for him in January.

Speculation was rife over a potential move and Atletico reported Barcelona to UEFA because of the strength of the rumours.

But Barcelona released a statement insisting they would not make a bid – but they may change their approach come the next transfer window.
