Silva has come in, but will Mahrez be leaving?

The Foxes are already in the thick of the transfer action with the January window just days old.

Among the biggest deals already concluded is the deal for ex-Sporting Lisbon man Adrien Silva.

They let the central midfielder leave for Leicester in a £22m deal in August.

His debut may have been delayed for four months after Fifa famously refused to sanction the transfer because paperwork was received 14 seconds too late.

But Foxes fans are more than happy to see the deal finally go through – more on how he’s settling in here .

The fear, however, is this could be the first of a few transfers this month – principal of which would be whether or not prized asset Riyad Mahrez leaves the club.

Elsewhere, in a true statement of intent, according to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have already sealed the services of Southampton’s defensive rock for £75m making him most expensive defender ever.

However this may not be enough to prevent them losing Philippe Coutinho, with their midfield magician being eyed up by Spanish giants Barcelona.

Diego Costa has left Chelsea to return to Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee.

He departed saying he only has “good memories”,

Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion has landed Swedish hitman Viktor Gyokeres from IF Brommapojkarna. Gyokeres was joint top scorer at the European Under-19 Championship, with three goals in three matches.

North of the border, Marvin Compper of RB Leipzig has been snapped up by Celtic for £1m.

And there’s been some loans of interest agreed by top clubs too. Sylvain Deslandes and Connor Ronan have moved from Wolves to Portsmouth, James Hanson has left Sheffield United for Bury, Jordan Maguire-Drew has gone from Brighton to Coventry, Stephy Mavididi from Arsenal to Charlton, Rafael Mir from Valencia to Wolves, and Sean Goss from QPR to Scottish giants Rangers.

And Huddersfield have loaned Monaco’s Terence Kongolo, after the Dutch defender agreed to swap the French Riviera for West yorkshire – and you thought £75m for a defender was crazy.
