Manchester United have stopped their efforts to sign Alvaro Morata after Real Madrid demanded a shockingly huge fee for the Striker, according to
reports.

Manchester United layed out a hefty £52 million offer for the Spaniard, but Spanish side, and current Champions League holders Real Madrid have shocked the club by asking for £78m.

The package is not thought to include David De Gea, who was the subject of a rejected £60m offer earlier this summer.

If Jose Mourinho fails to be reunited with his former star, having given him his debut at the Bernabeu, the contingency plan could be Andrea Belotti — the Torino striker who has an £87.3m release clause after hitting 26 goals in Serie A.
